A simple Sikachyk apple pie

Everything is simple, nothing complicated, three identical shortbread cakes from the same dough, one apple cream and caramelized nuts on top – that’s it simple braid Sikachyk. Despite the simplicity of preparation and ingredients, the result will pleasantly surprise you.

Such a cake tastes best on the 2nd or 3rd day after baking, when the cakes have softened well.

Simple braid Sikachyk – ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • Flour – 350 g.
  • Oil – 250
  • Powdered sugar – 90 g.
  • Sour cream – 1-2 tbsp.
  • Eggs – 2 pieces.
  • Baking powder – 2 tsp.
  • For apple mass:
  • Apples – 2 kg.
  • Yellow jelly – 2 packages.
  • Nut mass:
  • Walnuts, chopped – 200 g.
  • Sugar – 180 g.
  • Milk – 3 tbsp.
  • Honey – 3 tbsp.
  • Oil – 150

Cakes

Mix flour with powdered sugar and baking powder, add butter cut into small cubes. Cut with a knife until a small oily crumb is formed. Add eggs and sour cream to the crumbs. We knead the dough.

Divide the dough into 3 equal parts, wrap each in cling film, put in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes.

We cover the form (20×30) with parchment, take out part of the dough, roll out according to the dimensions of the form. Bake at a temperature of 200 degrees for about 15 minutes. Bake 2 more cakes in the same way.

Apple mass

Peel the apples, rub them on a coarse grater, put them in a saucepan, pour ΒΌ cup of water, cook until soft (about 10 minutes), add jelly (powder), mix well. Leave to cool and slightly thicken.

Nut mass

Heat the oil in a pan, add sugar, honey, milk and roughly chopped nuts. Fry everything for 4-5 minutes.

We collect the braid

Spread half of the apple mass on the first cake, cover with the second cake, spread the rest of the apples, level, and cover with the third cake. Spread the hot nut mass.
