Smakota (Smakotainfo.com) offers to cook delicious cherry-apple jam. This jam turns out to be thick with a whole cherry berry. In winter, such a fragrant and tasty jam will give you a piece of summer. It is very tasty simply with a piece of white bread and warm milk. But it is up to your discretion and taste.

So we start cooking.

A recipe for making cherry-apple jam

  • Cherry – 1 kg.
  • Apples – 1 kg.
  • Sugar – 1 kg.

Wash the cherries well, remove the pits, and cover with half of the sugar (0,5 kg). Mix well and put in the refrigerator overnight so that they are well sugared and give juice.

In the morning, we take the apples, clean them from the peel and seeds and the boxes that contain the seeds. Cut the apples into small pieces and put them in a thick-walled pan.

Drain the juice from the cherries, add half a glass of boiling water to it and pour it into the apples. We put the pan on medium heat. Cook the apples until soft (about 15 minutes), removing the foam. Mash the apples into puree and add the rest of the sugar (0,5 kg).

Put the cherries in a saucepan with puree and continue to cook. Cook until a drop of puree spreads on the plate. Remove the foam that forms.

We reduce the heat to the lowest and pour our jam into sterile jars, screw on sterile lids.

From the number of ingredients specified in the recipe, a little more than 1,5 liters of jam is obtained.

We open one jar for a sample. Bon appetit!
