Cherry jam

Today Smakota (Smakotainfo.com) invites you make cherry jam – jam prepared according to a French recipe. Homemade cherry jam will not leave you and your loved ones indifferent and will take one of the first places among your favorite treats.

Ingredients:

  • cherry – 2 kg.

  • sugar – 2 kg.
  • lemon – 1 piece.

Cherry jam recipe

We wash the cherry well, separate the stalks, select only completely healthy fruits, remove the pits. We put the berries without seeds in an enameled (or copper, maybe someone has them) dishes, sprinkle with sugar, mix (this is best done by hand). We leave the berries with sugar for 3-4 hours so that they release the sugar.

When the berries have released their juice, add the juice of one lemon and put the pan on the gas. Bring the mass to a boil (remove the foam that forms). Cook for 5 minutes after boiling, remove from heat.

Beat the hot mass with a blender or grind it in a meat grinder to a homogeneous mass. We put our puree-like mass on the fire again and bring it to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for another 2-3 minutes. Immediately pour into sterile jars, close with sterile lids. Turn the jars upside down until completely cool. After a day, the cans can be turned over to their usual position and put in a cool place.

The jam is stored in small jars – 200-500 ml.
