Chicken on herbs in yogurt sauce – fragrant and juicy poultry stewed in an exquisite sauce. The chicken according to this recipe is tender, it just melts in your mouth. A good idea for family dinners and lunches. It tastes good with any side dish.

Herbed chicken in yogurt sauce – ingredients

  • Chicken (any parts) – 1 kg.
  • Onion – 1 piece (large).
  • Broth (water) – 300 ml.
  • Soy sauce – 3-4 tbsp.
  • Dried mushrooms – 5-6 pieces.
  • Thick yogurt – 2 tbsp.
  • Flour – 1 tbsp.
  • Oil.
  • Fresh herbs (chopped) – dill, parsley, thyme, basil, oregano.
  • Salt, paprika, curry, Provencal herbs, marjoram – 1 tsp.
  • Pepper, chili pepper – to taste.

Chicken on herbs in yogurt sauce – recipe

The meat is thoroughly washed, dried, rubbed with spices, peppered to taste.

Fry the chicken in heated oil until brown on each side.

Cut the onion quite roughly, you can cut it into half rings, mix it, fry it until the onion is transparent.

Pour broth and soy sauce over the chicken, add mushrooms. Let everything boil, reduce the fire (the smallest). We cook for 45 minutes under the lid. Stir and turn the meat every 10-15 minutes.

Add fresh herbs, simmer for another 5 minutes.

Remove the meat from the pan.

Add flour to the yogurt, mix well, pour into the pan, stirring constantly and cook until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper (if needed).

Return the chicken back to the pan, simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
