Chocolate cake with prunes

Cakes with a pronounced taste and bitterness of chocolate go well with a sweet, delicate cream with prunes – that’s it chocolate cake with prunes. It is very easy and quick to prepare such a braid, but you should not forget to soak the prunes in advance.

Chocolate cake with prunes – ingredients

  • For bÑ–skvÑ–tu:
  • Eggs – 9 pieces.
  • Sugar – 250 g.
  • Flour – 250 g.
  • Baking powder – 1,5 tsp.
  • Cocoa – 4 tsp.
  • For the cream:
  • Prunes – 200 g.
  • Alcohol (vodka, rum, cognac. ) – 120 ml.
  • Creamy pudding – 2 packages.
  • Yolks – 2 pieces.
  • Milk – 500 ml.
  • Vanilla sugar – 15 g.
  • Sugar – 8 tbsp.
  • Oil – 250
  • Additionally:
  • Chocolate glaze.
  • Almond flakes (optional).

Chocolate cake with prunes

A day before baking, place the prune cake in a jar and fill with alcohol, shake well and put in the refrigerator.

Sponge cake

Separate the whites from the yolks and beat until stiff foam. Add 2-3 spoonfuls of sugar, beat well after each serving. We reduce the speed of the mixer to the minimum, add one yolk at a time, beating all the time.

Mix the flour with the baking powder, and sift it into the egg mass, carefully knead it with a spatula. Add cocoa and mix again.

We pour the dough into a form covered with parchment, level it. Bake at a temperature of 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Cool and cut into 2 identical cakes.

Cream

Drain the alcohol from the prunes (we will still need it), cut them into cubes.

Rub the cornstarch with sugar and vanilla sugar, add vanilla puddings and a glass of cold milk, mix well so that there are no lumps.

Bring the rest of the milk to a boil, pour in the pudding solution, and cook, stirring, until it thickens. We are cooling.

Beat the butter to a fluffy light cream, add the cooled pudding, beat well to a homogeneous mass. Add chopped prunes, mix.

We make a braid

We impregnate the chocolate cake with half of the alcohol left over after infusing the prunes. We spread half of the cream on top, level it, cover it with the second cake, soak it with the rest of the alcohol and grease it with the rest of the cream.

Pour chocolate glaze on top (from this cake), sprinkle with flakes.

We put it in the refrigerator for 4-5 hours.
