Crumble with apricots and ginger
Smakota (Smakotainfo.com) offers to prepare a delicious and original breakfast for the whole family – crumble with apricots and ginger. Such a crumble will fill your home with magical aromas. Rest assured, you won’t even have to wake anyone up for such a breakfast.
So we start cooking.
A recipe for making crumble with apricots and ginger
- For the filling:
- Apricots (pitted) – 800 g.
- Sugar – 120 g.
- Starch – 1 tbsp.
- Ground ginger – ½ tsp.
- Cinnamon – ½ tsp.
- Zest of a small lemon.
- For the top layer:
- Oat flakes – 140 g.
- Flour – 100 g.
- Brown sugar – 60 g.
- Cinnamon – 1 tsp.
- Salt – ¼ tsp.
- Butter (cold) – 90 g.

Let’s start by preheating our oven to 180°C.
Combine apricots, sugar, starch, ginger, cinnamon and lemon zest in a saucepan. We carefully mix, trying to ensure that the apricots are evenly covered with spices, sugar and starch. Transfer the apricots to an oiled baking dish.
In a separate bowl, mix oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Cut the cold butter into cubes and combine the mixture with your fingers so that a large, soft crumb is obtained. Spread the crumbs on top of the apricots.
Put our crumble in the oven for 35-40 minutes. The surface of the crumble should become golden during this time.
We serve the crumble warm, very tasty with milk.
