Delicious homemade stew

Today we will cook with you stew at home. Of course that homemade stew will be much tastier than store-bought, because we will use good meat and lard, salt, pepper and bay leaf for cooking. Only fresh and natural products.

Delicious homemade stew – ingredients

  • Meat – 2 kg.
  • Fat – 1 kg.
  • Black pepper (ground).
  • Salt.
  • For 1 half-liter jar:
  • Bay leaf – 2 sticks (medium size).
  • Allspice – 2-3 peas.

Delicious homemade stew – preparation

We wash the meat. Cut into small pieces, salt and pepper to taste and mix well.

In half-liter jars, put allspice and bay leaf at the bottom. Then we put the meat. We do not compact it tightly, we do not add two fingers to the top.

Cover the jars with iron lids and put them in a COLD oven. Turn on the oven and heat it to 250 degrees. But watch the meat, when it starts bubbling and boiling, reduce the temperature to 150 degrees and stew it for 3 hours.

While our meat is languishing in the oven, let’s make lard. Cut the lard into small pieces and put it in a pan. Melt the fat over low heat.

When the meat is ready, take it out of the oven, pour melted fat over it and cover it tightly with lids. To check the cans for tightness, we turn them upside down, if nothing leaks and does not hiss, the can is sealed tightly.

When our stew cools, the liquid fat remains on the bottom, and a beautiful layer of fat on top. Such a stew is well stored even at room temperature.
