Dove with fish

Today, you and I will cook cabbage rolls, but cabbage rolls are not quite ordinary – cabbage rolls with fish. Such cabbage rolls are very tasty and original, and also very tender. And the delicious tomato-sour cream sauce very successfully complements their unsurpassed taste.

Dumplings with fish – ingredients

  • For cabbage rolls
  • Cabbage – 1 head.
  • Fish fillet – 300 g (you can take any fish: red, white – to your taste).
  • Rice – ½ cup (not boiled).
  • Onion – 1 piece.
  • Oil.
  • Dill.
  • Salt pepper.
  • For the sauce
  • Oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Flour – 2 tbsp.
  • Tomato paste – 2 tbsp.
  • Water – 1 glass.
  • Sour cream – 1 cup.
  • Salt.

Dumplings with fish – preparation

Wash the cabbage and separate it into separate leaves. Put the cabbage leaves in boiling salted water and boil for 3-5 minutes, the leaves should become soft, but not boil. Cut off rough veins.

Now let’s do the filling. Boil the rice until half cooked. Cut the fish fillet into cubes, cut the onion into quarter rings.

Put the onion in a heated pan with oil and fry for 2-4 minutes, add the fish, fry for another 4 minutes.

Mix rice with fish and onions, add dill greens, salt, and pepper.

Now we will prepare the sour cream sauce. Melt butter in a pan, add flour and lightly fry it. Add water to the flour in parts, stirring constantly so that lumps do not form. Add sour cream and mix well again. Add tomato paste, salt and cook for 3-5 minutes.

Put ~ 1,5-2 tablespoons of filling on the edge of the cabbage leaf and carefully roll it up with an envelope.

Fry the finished cabbage rolls in a mixture of oil and butter until golden. (you can do without frying. Then you will need to boil them in the sauce for 10-15 minutes before baking).

Transfer the cabbage rolls to a heat-resistant pan and pour the sour cream sauce.

We put our cabbage rolls in an oven heated to 180-200 degrees. Bake for 10-15 minutes.
