Dumplings with cherries

Today we will prepare the most delicious berry dumplings – dumplings with cherry. Delicate thin dough, aromatic sweet and sour filling, flavored with tenderness and love that every hostess puts into them, make cherry dumplings the tastiest in the world.

Dumplings with cherries – ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • Flour – 500 g.
  • Water – 300 ml.
  • Salt – 0,5 tsp.
  • Sugar – 0,5 tsp.
  • Oil – 50
  • For the filling:
  • Cherries – 800 g (weight without pits).
  • Starch – 2 tbsp.
  • Sugar – 4 tbsp.
  • Vanilla sugar – 20 g.
  • Cinnamon – 1-2 tsp. (you can do without it).

Dumplings with cherries – recipe

We wash the cherry, clean it from the stalks, put it on a towel to dry.

Now let’s do the test. Sift flour, add sugar and salt, mix. Bring water to a boil, add oil, stir until oil is completely dissolved.

Pour water into the flour in a thin stream, immediately stir with a spoon so that there are no lumps. We continue to knead the dough with our hands. If the dough is sticky as a result, add a little flour.

We form a ball from the dough, put it on a floured work surface, cover it with a pan (or other dish that will fit tightly to the table), cover it with a towel on top. Leave the dough for an hour.

While the dough is resting, let’s prepare the filling. Remove the pits from the cherries, put them in a colander to get rid of excess juice.

Add sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon to the cherries, sprinkle evenly with starch. Form dumplings immediately.

Boil the dumplings in a large amount of water. Serve with sour cream or other favorite sauce.
