Finnish mead

A delicious, aromatic drink. The drink consists of sugar and honey dissolved in water, with the addition of yeast, raisins and cinnamon. It is very easy to prepare. True, it takes some time for the fermentation process to pass and the drink to become low-alcohol. The longer Finnish mead insists, the stronger it will be. You can cook and serve Finnish mead to the festive table, on New Year’s holidays.

Preparation of Finnish mead

Pour 400 ml of water into the container, bring to a boil. Pour in the sugar and stir until it is completely dissolved. We remove the container from the fire.

Cool the water to 40°C, add honey and lemon juice.

Dissolve the yeast in a small amount of water, pour it into the lemon-honey mixture.

After cooking, pour Finnish mead into glass bottles, cover with 3 layers of gauze and leave in a dark place overnight. The next day, add washed raisins and cinnamon. Leave for 7 days in a cool place. Filter before use! Done!
