  • Horseradish – 3-4 medium roots.
  • Apple cider vinegar – 3-4 tbsp.
  • Sugar – 1 tsp (or to taste).
  • A pinch of salt.
  • Additionally:
  • A few spoons of sour cream.
  • Apple (wine, large) – 1 piece.

Thoroughly wash the freshly dug horseradish from soil residues, you can help yourself with a brush.

Soak the horseradish in very cold (ice) water for 30-40 minutes, take it out, dry it well with a paper towel.

Grate the horseradish on the finest grater (like a coarse grater). After we erase one piece of horseradish, season it with 1 tbsp. apple vinegar, mix. And so after each horseradish root, we do this so that the grated horseradish does not darken.

Season the horseradish with sugar and a pinch of salt.

Put the prepared horseradish in a jar and seal it tightly.

Before serving, add fatty homemade sour cream (to your own taste) and (or) a finely grated apple. Then the horseradish becomes a little softer, more tender.
