Ham in dry marinade (proven recipe)

You and I are used to seeing ham on the Easter table in addition to paska, sausage and Easter eggs. Smakota (Smakota.info) today shares verified ham recipe in dry marinade. Such marinated meat can be baked and smoked. Try it, you won’t regret it.

Homemade marinated ham recipe

  • Meat – 5-6 kg.
  • Salt – 100 g.
  • Allspice and coriander – 5-6 pieces each.
  • Bay leaf – 4-5 pieces.
  • Cloves – 4-5 pieces.
  • Fat for baking (butter is better).

Grind all the spices and mix with salt. Rub the meat on all sides. We put the meat in a vessel, cover with a clean white cloth and press down with a small press. We put our meat in the refrigerator for 7-10 days, turning it daily.

On the 7-10th day, take the meat out of the refrigerator, wash it well, tie it well with threads and put it in a fireproof vessel, add fat and 1 glass of water. Put in an oven heated to 180 degrees. Bake for 2-2,5 hours. To prevent the ham from burning, open the oven from time to time and water it from above. Such meat can be marinated in pieces and baked into small hams, or smoked.

So that our ham has a shiny skin at the end of baking, you can coat it with honey diluted in water (1:1).
