Homemade pancakes with potatoes

An interesting, slightly unusual, but very tasty dish – homemade pancakes with potatoes. So pancakes go very well with the mushroom sauce presented in the recipe. A complete second course for a family dinner.

Homemade pancakes with potatoes – ingredients

  • For the pancakes:
  • Milk – 2 glasses.
  • Flour – 2 cups.
  • Eggs – 2 pieces.
  • Oil – 2 tbsp.
  • For the filling:
  • Potatoes – 8 pieces (medium).
  • Lard – 1 tbsp.
  • Onions – 2 pieces.
  • Salt.
  • For the mushroom sauce:
  • Mushrooms – 300 g.
  • Onion – 1 piece.
  • Sour cream – 3 tbsp.
  • Oil – 1 tablespoons
  • Water – ½ cup.
  • Flour – 1 tsp.
  • Salt pepper.
  • Additionally:
  • Cheese – 50 g.

Mix milk with flour, eggs and oil, beat until smooth. Leave for 15-20 minutes, knead again. Fry thin pancakes in a well-heated, dry frying pan.

Every time we pour the dough into the pan, we do not forget to stir.


Peel the potatoes and boil them in salted water until tender.

While the potatoes are cooking, cut the onion into small cubes and fry in lard until soft.

We mash the finished potatoes into puree, add fried onions (together with fat), mix well.

Put mashed potatoes on the pancakes, wrap them with a roll, put them in a heat-resistant form.

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater, sprinkle on top of the pancakes. We put it in an oven heated to 180 degrees for about 20-30 minutes.

Mushroom sauce

Cut the onion into pieces of your favorite shape. Cut the mushrooms into slices.

Fry the mushrooms together with the onion in oil until the onion is soft.

Mix flour with water and sour cream, mix well so that there are no lumps. Pour into the mushrooms, stir. Salt, pepper, stew for a few more minutes on low heat.

We serve hot pancakes with mushroom sauce to the table.
