Homemade shawarma

Don’t know how to diversify your usual diet? Then cook homemade shawarma according to our wonderful recipe. In addition to pita bread with vegetables and salad, we will use chicken fillet, which we will marinate in aromatic and spicy spices.

Necessary products for cooking shawarma at home

  • Chicken fillet – 2 pcs. (400 g).
  • Lavash – 3 layers.
  • Tomato – 1 pc.
  • Caucasian seasoning – to taste.
  • Black pepper, ground – to taste.
  • Salt – to taste.
  • Cucumber – 1 pcs.
  • Green onions – 2 feathers.
  • Lettuce – 3-4 leaves.
  • Dill – 2-3 sprigs.
  • Mayonnaise – to taste.
  • Ketchup – to taste.
  • Oil – 4 tbsp. l.

Homemade shawarma preparation

1. Wash the chicken fillet, clean it from veins and films. Salt on all sides. Leave aside for 1 hour.

2. After 1 hour, wash off the salt from the fillet and cover with water. Leave for 15 minutes.

3. After 15 minutes, drain the water. Salt and pepper the meat to taste and add Caucasian seasoning. Leave to marinate for 1 hour.

4. After 1 hour, in a frying pan with the addition of oil, fry the fillet on both sides until done.

5. Mix mayonnaise and ketchup for the sauce.

6. Wash the cucumber and cut it into half rings.

7. Wash the tomato and cut it into small pieces.

8. Wash the lettuce leaves and cut them into small pieces.

9. Wash green onions and dill. Finely chop the greens.

10. Cut the fried and cooled meat into small fibers.

11. Form shawarma. Spread a layer of pita bread and smear it with sauce without reaching the edges.

12. Spread the meat over the entire surface.

13. Place cucumber, tomato, lettuce, green onion and dill on the meat.

14. Roll pita bread with filling into a tube. We form the other layers of pita bread in the same way.

15. Fry the shawarma in a dry pan on both sides.

16. Homemade shawarma is ready. Bon appetit!
