Homemade “Toffee” – ingredients

  • For 30 candies:
  • Creamy toffee – 250 g.
  • Nuts (hazelnuts) – 30 pcs.
  • Dark chocolate – 50 g.
  • Cream (10%) – 6 tbsp.
  • Butter – 2,5 tbsp.
  • Form from under candies.
  • Cognac (brandy, liqueur) – 1 tbsp. (Optional).

Recipe for making homemade “Toffee”

For cooking “Toffee” candies iris should be broken into pieces or finely chopped. Now melt it in a water bath with the addition of cream (5 tablespoons) and cognac.

Remove from heat and add butter (2 tablespoons), stirring well so that the mass is homogeneous.

Forms for cooking “Toffee” candies grease them with butter (you can use oil) and fill them with melted toffee. Insert a whole nut in the center of each candy and cover again with toffee. Nuts must first be cleaned and roasted in the oven for a few minutes.

Now melt the chocolate in a water bath with the addition of 1 tablespoon of cream. Also add butter (0,5 tbsp), stir until smooth. Put the obtained mass with a teaspoon on top of each candy in the center.

Put Toffee candies in the freezer for 5 hours. After that, they will easily separate from the walls of the form. Don’t worry, they get soft pretty quickly.
