Honey cake with semolina cream, cherries and nuts – a wonderful, simple recipe for holiday baking. Honey is prepared from simple ingredients that are always at hand. The big plus of this honey translation is that it best reveals its taste 2-3 days after baking. It’s very convenient, especially before the holidays. A sweet honey cake with cherries, nuts and even a simple (in terms of ingredients and preparation) cream is very tasty. We recommend!

Honey cake with semolina cream, cherries and nuts – ingredients

  • For cakes:
  • Flour – 3 cups.
  • Sugar – ¾ cup.
  • Soda – 1 tsp
  • Egg – 1 piece.
  • Butter (margarine) – 125 g.
  • Honey – 2 tbsp.
  • Milk – 10 tbsp.
  • For the cream:
  • Milk – 0,5 l.
  • Sugar – 0,5 cups.
  • Vanilla sugar – 2 tsp.
  • Semolina – 60 g.
  • Oil – 200
  • Lemon juice – 5 tbsp.
  • Additionally:
  • Plum jam – 250 g.
  • Walnuts (chopped) – 100 g.
  • Cherries in syrup.
  • Powdered sugar.

Dough

Mix flour with sugar and soda, add cubed cold (solid) butter. Cut with a knife until a small oily crumb is formed. Add liquid honey, egg and milk to the crumbs, knead the dough. Divide the dough into three equal parts, wrap in cling film, put in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes.

Take one part of the dough out of the refrigerator, roll it out on parchment, according to the size of the form (25×35). Transfer to a form together with parchment, bake at a temperature of 180 degrees for about 10 minutes (focus on your oven).

We bake the rest of the cakes in the same way.

Cream

Add semolina to a glass of milk, mix well. We put the rest of the milk on the fire, add sugar and vanilla sugar, bring to a boil. Pour the milk with semolina into the boiling milk, and cook until it thickens, stirring constantly.

Transfer the finished porridge to a ceramic dish, cover with cling film so that it touches the entire surface of the porridge. Leave until completely cooled.

Beat the butter until it forms a loose light mass, add the cooled semolina one spoon at a time, constantly beating. Add lemon juice, beat well again.

We collect the braid

Put the cherry in a colander, let it drain well, if necessary, remove the pits.

Spread the cake generously with plum jam, sprinkle with half of the chopped nuts, spread the cherry (pitted), spread with half of the kerma. Cover with the second cake, press slightly. The second cake is also well smeared with jam, sprinkled with nuts, spread cherries, smeared with cream, covered with the third cake, pressed.

Leave the dough in a cold place for 2-3 days.

Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar or decorate according to your preferences. Bon appetit!
