Hungarian dumplings with sausage – a simple and interesting way to diversify your dinner. We cover simple dough with an interesting filling. You can experiment with the filling itself, as much as our imagination and the refrigerator allow us.

Hungarian-style dumplings with sausage – ingredients

  • For the filling:
  • Sausage (good) – 400 g.
  • Onion – 2 large pieces.
  • Garlic – 1 clove.
  • Ground sweet paprika – 1 tbsp.
  • Hot paprika – ¼ tsp.
  • Thick sour cream – 1 cup.
  • Parsley.
  • Salt pepper.
  • Oil.
  • For the boys:
  • Potatoes – 1,5 kg.
  • Flour – ¾ cup.
  • Onion – 1 large bulb.
  • Eggs – 2 pieces.
  • Salt pepper.
  • Oil.

Hungarian dumplings with sausage – recipe


Cut the sausage into thin half-rings, the onion into cubes.

Heat a pan with oil, add onion, fry until soft. Add sausage, fry. Add garlic squeezed through a garlic press, both paprikas. Fry for another 30-40 seconds. Add sour cream, bring to a boil, salt to taste. Turn off the heat, sprinkle with finely chopped parsley. Cover the pan with a lid, set aside.


We clean the potatoes, grate them, drain the excess liquid. Add eggs, grated onion, flour, salt and pepper, mix well.

Lubricate a frying pan with a diameter of 24 cm well with oil, heat it well, spread part of the mass, level it. We should have a cake with a thickness of 5-8 mm. When the bottom is browned, gently turn the cake with a wide spatula, fry until golden. Transfer the finished dough to a plate, put the filling on one half, and cover with the other half.
