Cooking pasta with mussels in shells in the Italian style

1. Clean the mussels first. We remove the algae from the sharp edge with a knife to the blunt edge, do not squeeze the shells. We wash the mussels only in cold water, rub them one by one.

2. Pour olive oil into a deep frying pan and put garlic, cut into slices. Chop the hot pepper and also add it to the pan.

3. Clean the tomatoes from the seeds, chop them finely and put them in a pan. Do not salt the vegetables, because mussels are already salty. Chop half the parsley and also put it in the pan.

4. When the tomatoes become soft, and the garlic emits its aroma but is not fried, add the mussels.

5. Immediately cover with a lid so that the steam released from the mussels is preserved, cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes. After 3-4 minutes, open the lid and see that all the mussels have opened – they are ready.

6. Cook the spaghetti in salted water until al dente (a little undercooked), do not pour out the water in which the spaghetti was cooked. Pour the spaghetti into the pan.

7. Increase the heat and stir constantly for 2-3 minutes. If the water has boiled, add half a glass of water in which the spaghetti was cooked. We form the dish – put spaghetti on a plate, put mussels and pour the liquid-sauce from the pan so that the pasta is not dry, sprinkle with parsley. Pasta with mussels in Italian shells is ready.
