Lazy sushi

Salad Lazy sushi – these are the same rolls with the same ingredients, but not rolled up with roulettes, but laid out in layers or even mixed together. It all depends on the level of the cook’s dedication to the process: if you want it to be more beautiful, choose the first option, and if the main thing for you is taste, not beauty, then make it like an ordinary salad.

Making rolls at home requires considerable skill and, at least, a sharp knife for cutting twisted rolls. A simple recipe for lazy sushi does not need all this – even a beginner can handle the preparation, and the taste will be the same unsurpassed.

Wash the rice several times until the water is clear. Pour water and put on fire. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a minimum and cook for 15 minutes without opening the lid.

Turn off the fire. Remove the lid, cover the pan with a towel, and cover it with a lid on top. Leave for another 10-15 minutes. This is necessary to remove excess moisture.

We are preparing a dressing for rice. Mix vinegar, sugar and salt. Stir well so that the salt and sugar dissolve.

Pour the rice from the pan into a bowl (it should be sticky) and pour the vinegar dressing, pouring the rice over the entire area. We leave it to dry out.

Cut the cucumber and avocado into small cubes.

Dry nori leaves are crumbled and poured into the cooled rice. We mix.

Cut the filling for the Lazy sushi salad according to your preference – cubes of the desired size or strips. It can be just red fish, or fish with shrimp, mussels, eel or crab sticks. Or even smoked chicken. Combine at your own discretion and taste.

Now we collect the salad. You can go the simplest way – mix all the ingredients: rice with nori, avocado, cucumbers, fish and/or seafood. Season with cream cheese, mayonnaise and soy sauce.

A more refined option is to lay out Lazy sushi salad in a round shape in layers to make a “cake”. The first layer is a sheet of nori (it must first be cut according to the diameter of the form). Next – rice, cream cheese mixed with mayonnaise (spread with a spoon over the entire area), fish, another layer of cheese and mayonnaise, cucumbers. It is better not to salt cucumbers so that they do not give excess moisture.

Place the last layer of rice on top, and another sheet of nori. Lightly tamp. Cover with a layer of cream cheese with mayonnaise and garnish with avocado and shrimp. Or the avocado has not darkened – sprinkle it with lemon juice. Sprinkle with roasted sesame seeds.

You can also make portioned salads in wide glasses. Layers can be changed according to your choice.

In both cases, we serve wasabi and pickled ginger separately to the Lazy Sushi salad. Bon appetit!
