Mackerel stewed with vegetables – a simple and very tasty dish. The fish according to this recipe turns out to be tender and juicy. Such fish is prepared quite simply and quickly.

For cooking mackerel stewed with vegetables clean the fish well from the entrails, be sure to remove the black film, it can be bitter.

Mackerel stewed with vegetables – ingredients

  • Mackerel – 1 piece.
  • Onions – 2 pieces.
  • Carrot – 1 piece (large).
  • Tomato paste – 2 tbsp.
  • Pepper, salt – to taste.
  • Spices for fish.
  • Oil.

Stewed mackerel with vegetables – recipe

We clean the mackerel from the entrails, cut off the fins, cut into portioned pieces.

Salt each piece of fish, sprinkle with spices for fish.

Cut the onion into strips (quarter rings). Grate the carrot.

Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the onion, stew until transparent, add carrots, stew until the carrots are soft.

Put half of the sauteed vegetables in a cauldron, put pieces of mackerel, cover with the rest of the vegetables. We cover the cauldron with a lid. Stew mackerel with vegetables over low heat for 10 minutes.

Then add tomato paste mixed with 1/2 cup of water to the fish and vegetables. Cover with a lid, simmer for another 10-15 minutes.

Stewed mackerel with vegetables tastes good with boiled potatoes or rice.
