Meat casserole with millet

Today we offer you to cook meat casserole with millet. Such a dish turns out to be tender, like a souffle, juicy and fragrant! It tastes good as an independent dish with vegetable salads, and as a cold snack.

Meat casserole with millet also suitable for baby food – healthy and tasty! You can use absolutely any kind of meat for minced meat, you can even use not only minced meat, but also fish or mushroom!

Meat casserole with millet – ingredients

  • Millet – 0,5 cups.
  • Minced meat – 300 g.
  • Egg – 1 piece.
  • Flour – 1 tbsp.
  • Milk – 1 glass.
  • Green onions – to taste.
  • Salt – to taste.
  • Nutmeg (ground) – 1/3 tsp.
  • Allspice (ground) – to taste.
  • Hard cheese – to taste.

Meat casserole with millet – preparation

Boil millet for 15 minutes, cool. Add minced meat, salt, and egg to the millet. Grind the mass with an immersion blender until it becomes a paste.

We add flour, spices, onion, and milk to the obtained “pate” (pour milk in parts, because different minced meat may need a little more or less, the main thing is to achieve the consistency of sour cream of medium fat, not very thick, but not runny either). Mix well.

We put the mass in an oiled form, level it.

We put the form with the casserole in the oven heated to 200 degrees. Bake for 15-20 minutes, take out, drain excess liquid and sprinkle grated cheese on top.

We put it in the oven again and bake it until the cheese is browned.

Remove, cool and serve!
