Mushroom bigos

Bigos is a traditional Polish, Lithuanian and Belarusian dish. There are many options for preparing bigos. Today we will prepare one of the variants of this dish – mushroom bigos.

Mushroom bigos – ingredients

  • Cabbage – 250 g.
  • Mushrooms – 300 g.
  • Tomato paste – 2 tbsp.
  • Flour – 50 g.
  • Onion – 1 piece.
  • Celery (root) – 2 tbsp.
  • Bay leaf.
  • Salt pepper.

Mushroom bigos – preparation

Wash the champignons well and cut them into thin plates, finely chop the cabbage. Grate the celery on a fine grater. Finely chop the onion.

Fry the onion, add tomato paste and flour, heat for another 1-2 minutes.

Pour 20-30 ml of water into the pan, add mushrooms and stew them for about 5 minutes, add cabbage and celery to the mushrooms, stew for 15 minutes, add onion, bay leaf, salt, pepper and stew for another 5-7 minutes.

Mushroom bigos finished. Bon appetit!
