Nizhyn salad from cucumbers for the winter
There are many recipes for Nizhyn salad. Today, Smakota (Smakotainfo.com) offers you one of the options for such a salad. Ingredients for Nizhyn salad:
- Cucumbers – 1200 g.
- Onion – 750 g.
- Young dill – 20 g.
- Bitter and fragrant pepper – 2-3 peas in each jar.
- Salt – ¾ tsp. in each bank.
- Sugar – ½ tsp. in each bank.
- Vinegar (9%) – 1 tbsp. in each bank.
- Bay leaf – ½ large leaf.
Recipe for Nizhyn cucumber salad
Cut small cucumbers into circles, and cut large ones lengthwise into four parts and cut them into pieces, no more than 3 mm thick. Cut the onion into half rings thinly (also up to 3 mm). Finely chop the dill. Mix all the ingredients well.
Wash 5 half-liter jars well. Add bitter and fragrant pepper to each jar. Spread the cucumber mixture (tamping well), add salt, sugar, vinegar, and half a bay leaf on top.
Put the salad in a saucepan and pour boiling water to a level 1,5-2 cm below the neck. Cover with sterilized lids and leave for 20 minutes. Next, put the pot with the cans on the fire, bring to a boil and sterilize over low heat for 12 minutes. We take the cans out of the pan and immediately roll them up. Turn over, cover with a blanket until completely cool.
You can open one jar of Nizhyn salad for a sample. Bon appetit!
