Prepare such a sauce for a picnic – surprise your loved ones!

Recipe for original gooseberry sauce

  • Sugar – 200 g.
  • Gooseberries – 500 g.
  • Onion – 1 piece (about 100 g).
  • Ginger (fresh) – 1 tsp.
  • Chili pepper – 1 piece.
  • Water – 170 ml.
  • Vinegar – 150 ml.
  • Salt – a pinch.
  • Currants – 1-2 handfuls for color (can be without it).

Gooseberries are washed well and dried on a towel. Cut the gooseberry into rough pieces (halves, or into three parts, if very large). Finely chop the onion and the chili pepper (after removing the seeds). Peel the ginger and grate it on a fine grater.

Pour gooseberries and onions into a pan, add water and cook until soft. Add all other ingredients. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.

Pour the sauce into jars and immediately cover with lids. You can, if you wish, grind such a sauce with a blender until smooth. Then warm it up again, and then pour it into jars.
