Pickled cabbage

There are many variations of recipes for marinating cabbage, and every housewife has found for herself exactly the ONE that makes the cabbage crispy, juicy and tasty. Suggested recipe pickled cabbage easy and the cabbage is ready in a day.

Pickled cabbage – ingredients

  • For cabbage:
  • White cabbage – 400 g.
  • Carrot – 200 g.
  • Onion – 3 pc.
  • Garlic – 2-3 cloves.
  • Table vinegar 9% – 1,5 tbsp.
  • For the brine:
  • Water – 0,5 l.
  • Sugar – 5 tbsp.
  • Salt – 2 tsp.
  • Allspice peas – 15 pcs.
  • Bay leaf – 3 pcs.
  • Hot pepper – 1 pod.

Pickled cabbage recipe

Let’s start cooking pickled cabbage. Wash the cabbage and chop it into thin straws. Peel, wash and grate the carrot on a coarse grater. The onion should be cleaned, washed with cold water and cut into rings.

Place in a liter jar in layers: a part of cabbage so that it covers the bottom of the jar, then a part of carrots so that it completely covers the layer of cabbage, then a layer of onions. Layer the rest of the vegetables in the same way.

Peel the garlic, cut it into slices, put it in the last layer. Pour vinegar into a jar with cabbage.

Now we will prepare the brine for Pickling cabbage. You need to pour water into the pan, add salt, sugar, allspice, bay leaf, and a pod of bitter pepper. Stir and put on fire, bring to a boil and let it boil for 1-2 minutes.

Pour the prepared brine over the vegetables in the jar (if you like spicy, put the bitter pepper from the brine in the jar). The brine should completely cover the vegetables in the jar so that the cabbage was well marinated.

Close the jar with a lid and leave it for 12 hours at room temperature, and then put it in the refrigerator. A day later pickled cabbage ready.
