Pickled tomatoes for the winter. A simple, proven recipe without sterilization
Today, you and I will again deal with conservation for the winter. We will preserve tomatoes according to a simple recipe proven over the years, and most importantly – WITHOUT STERILIZATION.
Pickled tomatoes without sterilization – ingredients
- Tomatoes
- On a 3 liter can:
- Sugar – 6 tbsp.
- Salt – 2 tbsp.
- Vinegar – 70 ml.
- Black pepper – 4-6 peas.
- Garlic – 5 cloves.
- Bay leaf – 2 pieces (optional).

Wash the tomatoes, dry them with a towel, pierce the place of connection with the stem with a toothpick, put them in 3-liter cans. Pour boiling water, leave until completely cool.
We drain the water from the tomatoes into the pan, add a little more water, put it on the fire, bring it to a boil.
Pour salt and sugar into each jar, pour vinegar, add garlic, black pepper and a bay leaf (optional).
Pour boiling water over the tomatoes again, add to the top of the jar (so that a few drops of water spill over the rim. Cover with sterile lids, screw tightly.
Turn the cans upside down, cover with a warm blanket. Leave until completely cooled.
