Smakota (Smakotainfo.com) recommends trying a very tasty one cake with prunes and meringue. The original taste of dried fruits goes well with delicate vanilla meringue. You need to work on this miracle, but the result will pleasantly surprise everyone.

A recipe for making platka with prunes and meringue

  • flour – 1 cup.
  • starch – 1 tbsp.
  • egg – 5 pieces.
  • yolk – 1 egg.
  • sugar – 2 cups.
  • lemon peel.
  • oil – 110 g.
  • baking powder – 1 tsp.
  • protein – from 6 eggs.
  • powdered sugar – 3 cups.
  • vanilla sugar – 1 tsp.
  • gelatin – 1/2 tsp.
  • water 3 glasses.
  • nuts 50 g.
  • prunes 50 g.
  • dried apricots 50 g.
  • raisins 50 g.
  • apple juice – 300 g.

  1. Take eggs, sugar, yolks and lemon zest. Put in a water bath, while the bowl with the mass should not touch the water.
  2. Beat until the sugar dissolves. Mix flour, starch and baking powder into the egg mass.
  3. Melt the butter and, stirring gently, pour it into the dough in a thin stream.
  4. Cover the removable form with paper and pour the dough. Bake for 40 minutes at 190 degrees. Check readiness with a toothpick. Cool and cut the cake into two or three parts. Soak the cakes with apple juice.
  5. We are preparing the cream, for this pour sugar into a saucepan and pour water. Cook, constantly removing the foam. You can check whether it is ready in the following way: pour a little syrup into a cold plate and press it with a cold spoon, if the syrup stretches like a thick thread, it is ready.   6. Beat the egg whites with vanilla sugar and sugar into a stiff foam and, without interrupting the whipping process, pour the syrup in a thin stream. Mix quickly. Add dried fruit.
  7. Divide the cream with dried fruits into three parts for three cakes or into two parts for two. Grease the soaked cakes with cream. Close the finished cake with a cap so that the cream does not evaporate and leave it to soak.
