Puff pastry meat roll

Meat roll on puff pastry, sprinkled with delicate sesame seeds – a very tasty and simple version of a meat roll. In addition to meat, the roll also includes sun-dried tomatoes, hard cheese, dried basil and breadcrumbs. All products go very well together, so you definitely need to prepare a roll according to our recipe.

Necessary products for preparing meat roll from puff pastry

  • Minced pork – 450 g.
  • Sun-dried tomatoes – 40 g.
  • Onions – 1 pcs.
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp. l.
  • Black pepper, ground – to taste.
  • Salt – to taste.
  • Basil, dried – 1 tsp.
  • Breadcrumbs – 30 g.
  • Hard cheese – 40 g.
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Puff pastry, unleavened – 200 g.
  • Sesame – 1 tbsp. l.

Preparation of meat roll from puff pastry

1. Prepare the filling. Blend minced meat and peeled onion in a blender until smooth. Add sun-dried tomatoes.

2. Beat the minced meat with tomatoes. Add 1 egg and breadcrumbs.

3. Beat everything thoroughly. Add hard cheese grated on a fine grater.

4. Beat everything again thoroughly. Transfer the minced meat to another container. Salt and pepper to taste. Add basil. Mix well and beat the minced meat well to get rid of air bubbles and give the filling a solid structure.

5. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin.

6. Line a baking dish with parchment paper and lay out the dough.

7. Put minced meat in the form of a sausage in the middle of the dough.

8. We connect the long edges of the dough and pinch them well. Do not pinch the sides of the roll.

9. Turn the roll with the seam down. From above, make oblique, shallow cuts on the dough with a knife.

10. Brush the top of the roll with a lightly beaten egg using a cooking brush. Sprinkle the roll with sesame seeds.

11. We put the form with the roll on a baking sheet and send it to the oven heated to 180 degrees. Bake for 40 minutes.
