Salad for the winter “Tourist’s breakfast with rice” – tasty and nutritious preservation. The composition of such a salad is very simple – all seasonal vegetables that grow on your plot, or that you can easily buy at the bazaar or supermarket. It is best to take polished rice for preservation.
Such a salad tastes good both cold and warm – an ideal option for students.
Salad for the winter “Tourist’s breakfast with rice” – ingredients
- Tomatoes – 2 kg.
- Onion – 500 g.
- Bulgarian pepper – 500 g.
- Carrot – 500 g.
- Polished rice – 1 cup.
- Oil – 1 cup.
- Sugar – 4 tbsp.
- Vinegar (9%) – 2 tbsp.
- Salt – 1 tbsp.

Wash the tomatoes well, cut off the “stem” and all defective parts. There should be 2 kg of prepared (cut) tomatoes.
Grind the tomatoes (in a blender, combine, meat grinder – fine sieve), pour into a saucepan, put on medium heat.
Peel and wash carrots, onions, and sweet peppers (after cleaning, we should have 500 g of vegetables each).
Cut the onion into small cubes. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
The tomatoes in the pan should already be boiling, add carrots and onions to the boiling puree. Mix well. Let it boil, cook for 10-12 minutes.
While the contents of the pan are about to boil and boil, cut the pepper into small cubes and add it to the pan.
Add a glass of oil (200 ml), sugar, and salt. Stir, cover the pan with a lid, simmer over medium heat for 15-18 minutes.
Wash a glass of rice well in cold water, add it to the vegetable mass. Mix well, bring to a boil, reduce the heat to a minimum, simmer for about 40 minutes, until the rice is soft.
At the end of cooking, add vinegar, mix well, pour into sterilized jars, cover with sterilized lids, and screw tightly.
We turn the cans upside down, wrap them with a blanket, leave to cool completely.
This amount of ingredients yields about 3 liters of the finished product.
