Ingredients for making salad with tongue and apples:

  • tongue (beef) – 1 pc.
  • cucumber – 1 pc.
  • apple – 1 pc.
  • mini beets – 4-8 pcs.
  • capers – 3 tbsp.
  • Lettuce salad – 1 head.
  • mayonnaise – 2 tbsp.
  • lemon juice – 1 tsp.
  • salt, ground black pepper – to taste.

Preparation of salad with tongue and apples:

Wash the tongue well, put it in a large pot, pour boiling water over it and cook for 1,5-2 hours. (depending on the size) until ready. We immediately lower the finished tongue for 1-2 minutes. in cold water – this will help remove the skin from the tongue with a “stocking”. We dry. Cut off excess meat at the base of the tongue, cut the rest of the flesh into thin strips.

Wash the beets with a brush, bake in the oven at 180 ° C for 20 minutes. Then cool and peel.

Wash, clean and cut the cucumber into strips. We salt the cucumber and leave it for some time so that the juice drains. Drain the juice. Peel the apples from the skin and core, cut them into strips, sprinkle with lemon juice. Mix cucumber with apple, tongue and capers.

In a separate container, mix mayonnaise with mustard, salt and pepper. Pour this dressing over the salad and mix. Serve salad with tongue and apples on a lettuce leaf with baked beets.
