Spring salad Seven layers

Bright spring salad “Seven layers” – very filling and at the same time not too high in calories. Try it instead of the classic Greek or traditional Ukrainian table vegetable mix.

A spring-like fresh and bright salad with a sweetened original dressing will look perfect in a transparent glass dish, so that each layer is like in the palm of your hand. So you and your guests will get not only taste, but also visual pleasure.

Spring salad “Seven layers” – ingredients

  • Green salad – 2 bunches.
  • Tomatoes – 2-3 pcs.
  • Peas (canned or frozen) – 1 cup.
  • Green onion – 1 bunch.
  • Sweet pepper – 0,5 pc.
  • Eggs – 6 pcs.
  • Bacon (or ham) – 350 g.
  • Hard cheese – 250 g.
  • Mayonnaise – 250 ml.
  • Sugar – 1-2 tbsp. l.
  • Salt, ground black pepper – to taste.

We will prepare all the ingredients for cooking. Cut the green salad into medium-sized strips. Green onions – small enough. Tomatoes – rather large slices.

Grate the cheese on a fine grater. Thaw peas, or (if you use canned peas – drain the brine). It is better to use frozen – so the salad will turn out more crispy and “springier”.

Cut hard-boiled eggs into small pieces (or thin rings). Fry the bacon until crispy, dry it from excess fat on a paper towel and break it into medium pieces.

We begin to lay out the layers in a large bowl (remember, it is best to choose transparent dishes). Place half of the chopped salad on the bottom, sprinkle with salt and pepper.

The next layer is eggs. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top. Next, lay out two thirds of the tomatoes.

Then, one by one, lay out the layers (sprinkling with salt and pepper) in the following order: peas, the second half of the salad, bacon, grated cheese.

We are refueling. To do this, mix mayonnaise and sugar. You can add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, especially if the mayonnaise is thick.

Cover the top layer with sauce. You can also use part of the dressing inside the dish – between some layers at your discretion.

Cover the bowl with cling film and refrigerate overnight or even overnight.

Immediately before serving, decorate the salad with the remaining tomatoes and sweet pepper cut into strips.

Instead of bacon, you can use ham, cut into small cubes. Half of the green salad can be replaced with spinach leaves.
