Ear – this is a delicious soup made of white or red fish with potatoes, carrots, onions and ripe tomatoes – an excellent first dish during fasting. The most delicious ear based on red fish. You can also cook ear from cod, zander, sea bass, trout or salmon.

We recommend peeling the tomatoes beforehand. Tomatoes in their absence can be replaced with 2 tbsp. ready-made tomato puree. Serve the finished soup immediately to the table. It is especially tasty freshly cooked. Store leftover soup in the refrigerator at 0-6 ° C for no more than a day.

Ingredients for cooking ears:

  • fish fillet without skin – 300 g.
  • carrots – 1 pcs.
  • potatoes – 2-3 pcs.
  • onion – 1 pcs.
  • tomatoes – 2 pcs.
  • a mixture of peppers – to taste
  • bay leaf – 1 pcs.
  • salt – to taste.
  • greens – to taste.

Preparation of the ear

In a capacity of 2,5 liters, where we will cook ear, pour 1,2 liters of cold purified water. We put it on a small fire.

Wash the fish fillets with cold water, cut them into pieces and put them in water to boil. When boiling, remove the foam that forms. Cook the fish over low heat for about 7 minutes.

We clean the onion. Wash and clean the vegetables. Wash the greens, dry them. Grate the carrot on a coarse grater.

When the fish is cooked, remove it from the broth. We put carrots in the broth. We cook it.

Cut the potatoes into medium cubes, put them in the broth. Onions can be cut or thrown whole into the broth.

When potatoes and carrots are cooked, add chopped tomatoes. after 5-7 minutes, add chopped greens and return the fish to the broth. Salt to taste.
