Walnut sauce

Walnut sauce for salads suggests preparing Smakota (Smakotainfo.com). Very tasty and healthy sauce.

Due to the high content of fiber, protein and Omega-3, walnuts lower blood sugar, satiate quickly, block the conversion of carbohydrates into fat, lower cholesterol and reduce cravings for sweets and chocolate. If you use this sauce in the “Mimosa” salad, it will acquire a new taste.

Walnut sauce makes the salad taste rich. Salads made of potatoes, beef, salted and canned fish, leafy greens and seafood will become more aromatic and tastier. Fresh horseradish can be replaced with canned horseradish. You can also add any greens. Walnut sauce will become even more fragrant.

Ingredients for making nut sauce:

  • walnuts – 1/4 cup.
  • grated horseradish – 0,5 tsp.
  • low-fat soft cottage cheese – 200 g.
  • lemon juice – 1 tsp.
  • kefir – if necessary.
  • ground pepper – to taste.
  • salt – to taste.

Preparation of nut sauce:

Rub the cheese well through a sieve. Walnuts are cleaned, ground or crushed in a blender to the consistency of porridge. Add the nuts to the cheese, mix everything thoroughly. Add horseradish and lemon juice.

Salt and pepper to taste. The sauce should be like sour cream. If it is thick, add a little kefir. Leave for 15 minutes to infuse.
